Bobbatlu Recipe:

Ingredients:
to prepare dough:
1 cup Flour(Maida)
a pinch of Salt
2 tsp ghee
for filling:
1 cup Chana dal(Senagapappu)
1 cup Jaggery (grated)
2 tbsp. grated fresh Coconut
2 Cardamom
Salt pinch
1 tsp Ghee
Ghee/oil, to fry
Method:
for outer layer/Dough:
Take maida in a bowl and add pinch salt,ghee and add water to make a smooth dough.
(Note : the dough should be loose and smooth than the regular dough prepared for roti)
for the filling:
Wash and soak chana dal for 1 hour.
then boil it for 10 minutes and drain the water completely.
let the dal cool completely then,grind chana dal with coconut, jaggery and cardamom powder to make paste in a mixer .
if you find extra moisture fry it in the pan for few minutes until it becomes thick.
Let the mixture cool completely and make lemon sized balls out of it.
now the dough and the filling mixture is ready to prepare bobbatlu.
take a banana leaf and spread oil over it.
gently spread the dough(take one poori size) on the leaf and flatten it using your hands and now add the filling to it and close it properly from all the edges like how we do for parathas.
Then roll it slowly to get a circle of 4 diameter
now heat the thawa over low flame and fry bobatlu with ghee till it turns to light golden colour.
to make smooth bobatlu do not fry for long time it makes bobatlu hard so quickly remove it when you see light golden colour.
you can serve Bobbatlu sweet recipe hot in this festive season.
